Sore and broken.. ouch.. clear clear signs that my body muscles had atrophied too much haha.. kk this week has been rather eventful..
Hmm school has been getting harder a good sign.. haha so i need to be more careful. Physics is currently on Heat and Waves which in my opinion has always been the tuffest topics in Physics.. double ouch for them to be taught concurrently by 2 french lecturers lol.. the poor lecturers have trouble holding the class' attention and teach effectively. Biosci had a complicated topic on Vitamins and Antibiotics which seemed quite unrelated although they are taught together so thats another ouchie.. Medsci and Chem are ok thus far but they are getting dangerously heavy on content.. So many ouches.. i think year end exams will be a pain.. tsk tsk.. have to study everyday bleahzzzzzz..
I had been wearing my shades to class and out to town nowadays haha although i admit its really quite poserish as there is no need for it. But i find it fun to hide my eyes from everyone on the street and i can see why so many people do it. (yeah i see shades everywhere).. so far havent got any negative comments yet so haha i shall continue wearing then!
Friday was another formal dinner by UMSA UMNO and Malaysian alumni called Malam Merderka. It was a belated celebration of the malaysian national day which i think is on the 31 August? sooo its scrounging around for blazers to match and i wore a turquoise blazer from Chiayee.. haha and a Abercrombie shirt which made me look rather flowery.. haha i only lack lace cuffs and lace collar then can pass as.... haha. Almost everyone there was malays and they were resplendent in their songkats and baju kurongs.. the program wasnt that great but the table decor and the food was GOOOOOOODDDDDD... yummy nasi minyak, chicken curry and beef rendang.. yuuuummmmmyy..

Oh yeah at the time i was in Mt Albert there enjoying all this food.. my floor was having pod crawl..(basically each pod became a bar) and when i came back my pod WAS A WRECK. there was HAY yes the farm type of HAY everywhere and the toilet was broken (cant flush) wif yellow liquid all around on the floor..zzz at least i didnt have puke on my door. Now the pod might have to pay for damages to the carpet as there are stains (i wonder wat stains...) on the carpet.. zzzzz
Anyway saturday three of us went swimming as the rest all are too lazy to move their ass outta bed to swim. Me chiayee and Zhengjie were swimming pretty hardcore as i did 1.5km and she did 1.1km not sure zhengjie did how much... i find my power still there but ah power stroke a bit ah heah heah chuan liao.. so sian need to get back in shape.. soooo sad lor last time sooo fit now so totally like shito.. haha its quite funny as i always told chiayee was a looker but she refuses to believe me. THen before she even step into the pool an old caucasian ah ma was climbing outta the pool and asked "Where did u buy that swim suit? You look pretty in it!" muhaha.. as for me.. i found myself the recipent of quite a few looks.. hmm hopefully it ain becoz of my pot belly muhahahahahaha....
Then today we booked badminton courts for 2 hrs... basically stroke the shuttles around for a while when suddenly most of the guys stopped playing badminton and starting playing bball.. we were playing like 3 on 3 and 4 on 4... again.. i find my speed and jump still there (nice to hear wow.. he can jump damn high =p) but my stamina is shot.. cant maintain.. and now my legs ache..haiz.. if i cant really play vball here.. might as well change to other sports... bball can play for fun.. but again too short cant play for tm.. sniff sniff.. so sad.. most sports all need Height.. grrrrr.. haha but i used to it lor.. just have to find niches
actually what sport can i play come to think of it? I am short 1.65m.. i am pretty fast both speed and reflexes. I can jump surprisingly high for my ht. and i have my strength.. I usually lack patience to perfect those high end controls and i used to have great endurance. haha some one tell me pls... or shall i join the countless ranks of people who play casually sniff... i want to join comps again!!!

Hmm zoomed and the 1st week of the school term after hols has passed. A couple of significant events happened over these few days. Firstly, me weechin chiayee and shuping went over the place to look for apartments and we came upon a pretty nice apartment which was quite cheap. Its called the Empire and it has just opened for 6mths and it really looks like a hotel. We were happy wif it and hence decided to use the weekend to confirm everyone could go ahead wif it.
On sunday, there was a yumchar lunch after church, organised by the aunties (stacy bernie and genevieve) again. This time the turnout was 27 people and we went to this higher end yumchar restaurant. There were quite a few new faces as lots of people who didnt go for the first one came. When i get the fotos i shall name the newcomers.

Then on Monday, when 4 of us had confirmed and going down to Empire to deposit the booking fee we got a call from the manager that the room we wanted was already taken! walioa eh.. but in the end when we went down, we got another room of the same layout but not nice view lar.. but he promised he will try to bump us up to the 14th story lol..

Tis the 3rd day of school and while struggling to get used to waking up at 7am, the rest of school were pretty straightforward wif no happenings. Topics taught now are boring so yeah.. slow days.. been spending most of my time downloading movies and music videos(why do all black singers look so alike? lol but they are really good) to watch lol... my comp's been working up i think due to my massive downloading and frequent deletions. I think i will reformat my comp when school ends and i get back to sunny singapore.
Yesteday I did the dissection of a Sheep's heart and i dare say i am quite used to the animal and blood stink of organs liao. It was a really insightful dissection and i was way more confident and exploratory in my cutting compared to the rat one. Haha later i shall gross all of u out wif my gruesome pics of a heart. What struck me most was the valves in the heart which were sooooooo awesome. The mitral and tricuspid valves were attached by chordae tendinae (heart strings) which like the thickness of thread yet so tuff that they felt stronger than nylon when i tugged hard on them. The engineering was also amazing coz the pts of attachment of the strings to the muscle wall was just like a spot yet they were so firm i cant break it. The valves were soft transparent like cling film yet i can use my forceps to pick up the whole heart (larger than my fist and solid in wt) wif just the valves and shake it yet it wont tear. Haha the lab assistant saw what i was doing and also commented: "yeah stroooooong" haha.. the Semi Lunar valves were almost invisible yet they cld do their jobs every second etc.. such beautiful engineering. And the transformation of a fetal heart blood circulation to a normal heart circulation is just like the changing of train tracks. And the amazing thing is it happens in everyone or well u will be dead already. lol

Today later in the day i will have my medsci test yet i am totally disinterested in studying for it anymore. I guess i had been studying too much since the hols and i am just sick of looking at the books anymore. I wonder y i am quite bochap about this particular paper? and i just found out my nearest rival in Biotech Isabelle aint gonna be in Biotech anymore next year coz she is transferring to Biomedical Sci. So much for Qiu Bai. Mebbe thats why.
This sunday lunch there will be another yumchar lunch organised by the aunties. I am in charge of publicity and so far it seems that it will be yet another major event. I kinda expect around 30ish people lol.. kinda big and actually I dun feel like publicising anymore. I guess this sem i dun feel like socialising or organising anything. I have this old feeling of just chilling in my room wif music and just zoning out. Ah well.. later this month there will be yet another formal dinner, so dressup and dinner is on the cards.
Perhaps it was the late night, or the late morning, or the sudden onset of blues... but today when i got up, i wasnt exactly bouncing wif energy. Stumbling down to breakfast, i found myself at an empty table wif the rest of the people behind me. I found myself confronted wif a flash of jealousy and bitterness. As i sat down eating my breakfast, i found myself wondering why i felt that. Was it because i expected them to be nice to me coz i was nice to them? Or was it coz i felt lonely that moment? Or was it just because i wanted a little human contact at breakfast although i aint a chatty morning person. Hmm i never know... I guess i had the inclination to just brood in melancholy.
Anyway I got to have a private conversation wif Trang, a Vietnamese gal that was in O Rorke. She was year 2/3? in Psych(Arts) and i always tot she looked like those demure beauties u see in movies. Well, looks can be deceptive and she is quite liberal. Hmm i prefer private conversations wif people most of the time when i can just ask what i want without wondering about others.
So... listening to music and waiting for my days to pass..

Today I went to ICE SKATE!!
Yes this moron who never ever even rollerbladed went all the way outta the city into the suburbs to try his hand at ICE SKATING.. haha it was a really humbling experience, learning everything from scratch while my frens were zooooooming all around me. I fell UNCOUNTABLE times on my ass, had blisters on my feet and a slightly sprained wrist after a particularly bad fall.. BUT at the end of the 2 hrs of skating or so... i can say i can skate pretty convincingly... haha for 30s before i fall flat on my ass. I had to change skates halfway coz my first pair were giving me crazy blisters and twisting my ankles outta shape but waaaaaaaaah i WAS getting the hang of them lor.. then i changed into a diff pair which were more comfy but had totally diff balance points so it was relearning all OVER again!! haha i had countless cheering for me as i fell, spun into crazy loops or speeding into a wall... haha but it was a really nice place and really nice people...

Tis saturday already... and a week of hols have zoomed by?! wat?!?! so fast.. it just feels like a couple of days though..
Ok Tuesday me and my frens went for a DOTA compeition. Actually we went more for the experience than for anything i think and needlessly to say we aint as hardcore as those clanned people haha.. got thrashed although there was a game we should have won and hence boost our rankings significantly.. zzzz but nvm i can say i am better at dota nowadays.. haha.. That took up most of my day on tuesday especially when i watched MY SUPER EX GF wif my frens at the cinema.. haha it was really quite funny especially when the SUPER GF threw a SHARK into the ex BF's room for hooking up wif another gal... man lucky no gal is ever that psychotic or powerful.. shivers..
Wed was a slacking day... did the usual slacking stuff and started studying for my test after the hols. So far two of my 3 papers have come back wif acceptable results so it has been good. Just waiting for the last paper though. Ping pong made a come back into our after dinner playtime so yes i find it very fun haha alhough i dun really have the genes for it.. actually wat sports do i have the genes for anyway?? Ditto for thursday i think.. well at least if i remember correctly coz days pass by in a blur somewat... But i got an email from my handlers that i had the opportunity to do something different for the end of the year so right now i am applying for it and see how it goes lor.. dun think i can blog abt it though haha coz ya know...
Friday (yesterday) tho we (me zhengjie shuping and chiayee) went swimmmmmmmmmmmmming!! at an indoor heated swimming pool nonetheless so we didnt freeze to death. It wasnt large about 25m by 10m but i was heated so it was not bad. Again people work here based on trust so valuables and bags were like placed in the open. I had to hunt high and low everywhere coz i couldnt find my swimming trunks which i was soooo sure i brought over. We went up and down queen's street looking for cheapo board shorts and speedos and i finally hunted down a pair of cheapo "boardshorts" haha for 13 bucks. Almost had to resort to kids wear coz i couldnt fit their waistline lor.. heng in the end still got the normal ones... After swimming (and saving shuping's life once lol) we soaked in a jacuzzi so it was a really nice thing to have for 5.50 bucks. The toilets were like the SPANS one so it was cool... after that we went to eat at a chinese foodcourt where u could pick 6 ingredients for 6 bugs for economy rice. Man that IS the best value u can get anywhere in auckland! Upon strolling home, we came upon a shop that was having a clearance sale and everything was going at 5/10 bugs so i got my FIRST pair of SHADES at 10 bugs.. hahaha.. guess the colour guys.. ITS ORANGE highlights wif AMBER halfjackets.. haha..
